Iqbal Academy Pakistan, in collaboration with the ECO Cultural Institute, organized a three-day international conference titled "Iqbal Studies Abroad" from 17-19 November 2024 at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore.

Over 75 scholars presented research papers exploring various dimensions of Iqbal’s philosophy and its global relevance.  Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali presided over the conference, while Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui, Director of Iqbal Academy, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Rafiqui highlighted the universal resonance of Allama Iqbal's thought, which transcends racial and geographical boundaries. He emphasized the Academy's tireless efforts in promoting Iqbal’s ideas nationally and internationally.  ECO Cultural Institute President, Dr. Saad Khan, underscored Iqbal's universal message, focusing on humanity beyond racial and national divisions.

Scholars from different countries including Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, China, Spain, Sweden, and the UK participated, with Dr. Afsar Rahbeen’s traditional Afghan attire symbolizing global tolerance.  Delegates visited Iqbal’s Mausoleum and Lahore’s historic landmarks, including Dabistan-e-Iqbal, where Mr. Iqbal Salahuddin, Iqbal’s grandson, warmly welcomed them. 

Mr. Waleed Iqbal presided over the concluding session, commending efforts to promote Iqbal’s thought globally.  Cultural performances from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Bahawalpur enriched the event. The conference concluded with souvenir distribution, inspiring participants to follow Iqbal’s philosophy to build a positive global image for the nation.
