Allama Iqbal Seminar held at GC Women University Sialkot

On the occasion of the 145th birthday of poet of the East, thinker of Pakistan, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, a one-day seminar titled "Contemporary Significance of Iqbal's Thought" was held at GC Women University Sialkot on 5th December 2022 with the support of Majlis Iqbal, Art and Culture Society and Director Students Affairs. It was held under the chair of Chancellor Professor Dr. Rukhsana Kausar. Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen, Director, Iqbal Academy, Lahore, was the special guest of the seminar.

The ceremony started with the recitation of Holy Quran, Naat Rasool Maqbool (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and Iqbal’s poetry. Professor Dr. Baseera Ambreen delivered the contemporary meaning of Iqbal’s thought to the new generation with her insightful lecture. Mentioning the spiritual, political and social contexts, she gave a message to the students to understand Iqbal's thought in the contemporary context. Later, the message of Allama Muhammad Iqbal was presented by the Art and Culture Society with dramatic presentation of the poem of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Parliament of the Devil,  which was well appreciated by all the attendees.

Finally, Dr. Rifat Chaudhry, incharge of Majlis Iqbal, Miss Ayesha, incharge of Art and Culture Society, Sir Raza Rahman, incharge of Fine Arts Department and Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Shagufta Firdous, thanked the special guest and paid tributes for her excellent services to communicate the message of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
