Iqbal Day ceremony was organized on the occasion of the 145th birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 by the Iqbal Society Urdu department and under the patronage of the Principal of the college Ms. Samina Yasmin Bhatti at Government Fatima Jinnah College for Women Choona Mandi. The chief guest of the ceremony was Iqbal Scholar, researcher and translator Professor Dr. Baseera Ambrin, Director of Iqbal Academy and Honorable Shahzad Munawar, Director of Education Colleges was the guest of honour. Principal Ms. Samina Bhatti, Vice Principal Ms. Seemaba Babri, advisory members, teachers and a large number of students participated in the event. Hira Bilal performed the duties of stage secretary.

Hafiza Amina started the ceremony by reciting the Holy Quran. After the recitation Iqbal's most famous naat "Loh Bhi To Qalam Bhi To" was performed by Fatima Shakoor. Mah Noor and her fellow students presented "Khudi Ka Sirr e Nihan". After that, a documentary based on Iqbal's life and poetry was presented. With the help of this documentary, salient aspects of Iqbal's personality were explained. The students presented a tableau on Iqbal's famous poem "Gabriel and Iblis". Arsh Mualla and Saharash played the roles of Gabriel and Iblis. Allama Iqbal's famous poems "Shikwah" and "Jawab Shikwah" were presented by two students Anees Fatima and Mah Noor Gul. The students proved that they are Shaheen of Iqbal by memorizing many selected poems of Iqbal. Ms. Rozeena Saeed (Urdu Department), Ms. Sajida Malik (Education Department) were among the judges of this Bait Bazi competition. Both the teams were declared equal in this verses reciting competition.

In her keynote speech, Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambrin discussed the life details of Allama Iqbal, the philosophy of self, the concept of woman in Iqbal’s thought and the philosophy of motherhood. She presented Iqbal's philosophy to the audience in a very simple and understandable way. All the attendees benefited from his lecture. After the speech of Professor Dr. Baseera Ambrin, Kalam e Iqbal was presented by Fatima and her colleague students.

The guest of honor, Director of Education Colleges Mr. Shahzad Munawar spoke about the event. Principal Ms. Samina Bhatti thanked the guests. In cooperation with Urdu Department and Iqbal Society, Department of Fine Arts organized a painting and calligraphy competition related to Allama Iqbal and his poems, in which the students took full part. In this competition, Ms. Rubina Shaheen and Ms. Faiza Bashir, teachers of the Fine Arts Department, performed the duties of judges. A book stall was set up by Iqbal Academy Pakistan in which all the teachers and students showed keen interest. This stall included many rare books on Allama Iqbal.

At the end of the ceremony, prizes will be distributed among all the participating students. Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambrin, Director of Iqbal Academy, presented gifts of books to Shahzad Munawar, Director of Education (Colleges), Principal College, Ms. Samina Yasmin Bhatti and President of Urdu and Iqbal Society. Principal Ms. Samina Yasmin Bhatti presented commemorative shields and calligraphy created by the students of Fine Arts Department as gifts to the guests. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem and thanks to all the departments and employees who contributed to the event.
