Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division's visit to Allama Iqbal's ancient residence, McLeod Road Lahore

 Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division Ms. Fareena Mazhar along with Director General Department of Archeology and Museum and Project Director for Restoration and Repair of Ancient Residence Allama Iqbal, Dr. Abdul Azim, Engineer Muhammad Azim and Maqsood Ahmed Malik Director of Archeology Department  visited McLeod road Lahore on 23 December 2022, which is the ancient residence of Allama Iqbal. On this occasion, Director Iqbal Academy Pakistan Professor Dr. Baseera Ambareen  welcomed them by presenting a bouquet of flowers.

 

Dr. Abdul Azim gave a briefing to Ms. Fareena Mazhar on the ongoing project of restoration and repair of the building. Secretary National Heritage and Culture Division expressed interest in the project and emphasized the need for steps to make timely completion of the project as soon as possible. She said that assistance should also be taken from professional experts in the maintenance and repair of the building. She further said that this project is not only the restoration and repair of the building, but the memorials of Allama Iqbal should be kept in this building and a library should also be built from which students and common people as well as Iqbal scholars can benefit.

 

Ms. Fareena Mazhar, Secretary, National Heritage and Culture Division also planted a plant in the ancient residence of Allama Iqbal during this visit. Senior officers of DOAM and Iqbal Academy Pakistan were also present on this occasion along with the Secretary.
